Position Description
Performs coordinative work in the business or administrative operation of a specific department or college. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a department as well as the monitoring operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise staff or student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook mail and calendar.
  • Fluent and superior understanding of both spoken and written English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as medical licensing forms, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Coordinates ROP baby exams between NICU, retinal and pediatric ophthalmologists.
  • Employee will perform a variety of skilled administrative tasks and may be responsible for coordinating work on specialized projects within the department.
  • Serves as the Clerkship Coordinator. Responsible for all activities, scheduling and reporting for all medical students rotating through the Ophthalmology department.
  • Assist faculty and the administrative assistant to the Chair and Administrator with projects and tasks as needed.
  • Provide backup support to all other members of the administrative support team. May be asked to cover other duties as determined by need and administration of the department and/or supervisor.
  • Supports assigned faculty members by performing administrative duties related to planning, directing and coordinating activities as directed.
  • Assists with conferences, department events and projects.
  • HR coordinator.
  • Process and completes payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Detail Oriented. Strong attention to detail.
  • Quick learner; Ability to easily learn new tasks.
  • Self-Starter, displays initiative and drive in completing assigned tasks.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years related experience; OR a combination of education and/or progressively responsible related experience to equal six (6) years.
