ASSISTANT TO THE VICE PRESIDENT OF STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT

Salary Range : $4,028 - $7,336/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $4,028 - $5,800/Monthly)

Work Schedule : Full-Time, Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions : The assistant reports to and supports the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management in various executive, administrative, and operational responsibilities. These responsibilities include researching, planning, coordination, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing support to operational areas and programs impacting the delivery of services to students. The assistant coordinates and/or performs highly sensitive work on behalf of the Vice President and is responsible for achieving unit goals and positive unit/University impact. The assistant requires independent determination of methods to meet assigned tasks and deadlines and must maintain a high level of confidentiality, exercise tact and judgment on all matters, and build community and resolve conflicts effectively. With a high degree of autonomy, the assistant coordinates meetings, projects, activities, inquiries, and replies for and on behalf of the Vice President. As this position is confidential, the assistant may support the Vice President on labor relations matters. This position requires the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and a working knowledge of the University, CSU, and State of California infrastructure, policies, and procedures.

Required Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and/or four-year university and three years of administrative work experience, including study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, or programs. Ability to: identify and problem-solve administrative issues orally and in writing; perform responsible and difficult administrative work involving independent judgment and personal initiative; plan, organize, and carry out assignments from management staff with minimal direction; analyze, interpret, summarize, and present administrative and technical information and data effectively; prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, policies, procedures, and other written materials; interpret, apply, explain, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures; analyze data and present ideas and information effectively; thrive in a fast-paced environment; and multitask effectively to handle competing priorities. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Desired Qualifications : Master's degree in business administration, Public Administration, Education, or related field. Three years of experience supporting senior leadership in managing administrative functions in a higher education environment.
