Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is hiring for a Clinical Documentation Integrity Manager to manage the operations of the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) division and coordinate Clinical Documentation matters between ARMC staff and physicians.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manages, plans, organizes, and directs the work of subordinate supervisors and staff involved in the management of clinical documentation improvement activities with administration, hospital departments, and physicians to achieve effective CDI workflow and guidelines.
  • Collaborates with physicians to support hospital operations ensuring accurate and complete medical records; serves as a resource and provides education; communicates with providers regarding missing, unclear or conflicting documentation to achieve health record correction and compliance.
  • Monitors departmental performance and processes, maintains compliance with regulatory standards; makes recommendations.
  • Assesses training needs; develops and maintains an effective training program for clinical documentation improvement and coding in collaboration with Coding Supervisor; assists in the development of physician queries.
  • Selects, evaluates, and manages Clinical Documentation Integrity staff through subordinate supervisors; ensures staff are trained in a correct documentation practices and procedures.
  • Prepares or assists in preparing the annual budget for the division; review and monitor monthly operating expenses, labor, and productivity.
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of data, reports and tools; analyzes and assesses program effectiveness and makes recommendations.
  • Act as liaison between the department and other medical center services.
  • Develops policies, procedures and operating systems relating to CDI; monitors changes in requirements and revises policies and procedures as needed.
  • Reviews, prepares and signs work performance evaluations; participates in interviewing and hiring; provides counseling on work related problems and participates in disciplinary actions.
  • Provides vacation and temporary relief as required.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required. A valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess ALL of the following:

Certification: Must possess and maintain one of the following certifications:

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS)
-OR-

  • Clinical Documentation Improvement Profession (CDIP)


Experience: Five (5) years of experience supervising Clinical Documentation Improvement areas in an acute care hospital within the last seven (7) years.

Education: A Bachelor’s of Science in Business or Healthcare Administration or closely related field from an accredited institution.
