FINANCIAL ANALYST

The Nevada Transportation Authority ("Authority") is seeking qualified applicants for the position of
Financial Analyst. This is an unclassified, at will, full-time exempt position within Nevada State
Government.

Agency RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Nevada Transportation Authority (NTA) administers and enforces state laws pertaining to passenger
transportation, household goods movers, storage of household goods, and tow cars. The NTA has been
charged with the responsibility of providing fair and impartial regulation to promote safe, adequate,
economical, and efficient service, and to foster sound economic conditions in motor transportation. The
NTA encourages the establishment and maintenance of reasonable charges for intrastate transportation by
fully regulated carriers and non-consent towing services. The NTA also has responsibility for the taxicab
industry throughout the state except in Clark County. Statutory Authority: NRS 706.

Approximate Annual Salary Up To $104,012: Salary range reflects retirement (PERS) contributions by
both the employee and the employer. An employer paid contribution plan is also available with a reduced
gross salary. *Salary does not reflect an additional 11% cost of living adjustment, effective July 1, 2024.

Benefits:
The State benefits package includes a retirement system, paid health, vision, dental, life and disability
insurance; 12 paid holidays, and paid sick and annual leave. Other employee paid benefits such as deferred
compensation plans are available.

Position Location: This position will be based in Las Vegas. A valid driver's license or evidence of
equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

Position Duties:
Analyze applications for financial fitness, proposed tariff rates, and market, and analyze tariff
modifications. Meet with applicants to resolve any deficiencies noted from their review. Maintain and
update tariffs for all carriers. Maintain and analyze annual financial reports. Represent, testify, and present
evidence at administrative hearings. Assist in the development of regulations and legislation regarding
intrastate transportation of passengers and property in Nevada relative to financial requirements and tariff
issues. Provide recommendations/assistance to the Authority on matters involving laws and regulations
relating to financial and tariff matters affecting the provision of passenger and property transportation
service to the public.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in finance or
accounting and two years professional experience, or Master's degree from an accredited college or
university with major course work in finance or accounting. Experience in accounting or finance in a
regulatory setting is preferred. At minimum must have an intermediate knowledge of using Microsoft
Word, Excel, and Access software programs. Must be experienced in managing and prioritizing numerous
activities in a multi-tasked organization. Possession of a current CPA certification is desirable. An
understanding of the Nevada Revised Statutes relating to Motor Carriers is preferred.
