CivicSpark is an award-winning AmeriCorps program that builds local government and community capacity to address emerging and entrenched community resilience challenges. Each year, CivicSpark recruits emerging leaders who are interested in gaining professional experience in the community resilience field and developing technical skills, all while creating a meaningful and lasting impact in their service community. During the 11-month service year, CivicSpark Fellows will complete research, planning, or implementation projects that support local governments and community organizations in advancing their resilience initiatives.
The Town of Truckee strives to be a leader in the region for developing innovative approaches to housing. Within the Housing Division, the Fellow will help develop new, innovative housing programs, as well as assessing, improving, and implementing existing programs. The CivicSpark fellow will have the opportunity to work on projects in partnership with the Town’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager, and the Fellow will help provide capacity in the implementation of the Town’s new DEI action plan.
