San Bernardino County seeksa highly qualified and motivated individual to serve asthe Children's Network Officer.This unique, high-profile, and responsible position is designedto facilitate the collaboration of the County's Human Service Departments and public andprivate service agencies to meet the emerging needs of our County's at-risk children. We seekan individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to workin partnership with County andother community agencies to pool resources for efficientdelivery of services to the children and families we serve.

SALARY AND BENEFITS



The County offers a generous benefit package which includes a competitive salary up to $143,312* annually commensurate with experience.
3% Annual Across the Board Salary Increases on February 2025**
Bi-annual step increases of 2.5% up to Step 16

The County also offers an alternative Modified Benefit Option (MBO) that provides a wage differential of 4% above the base salary rate with modified benefits , including: Use of increased pay rate to calculate County contributions to RMT, 401(k), and 457(b) plans, leave cash outs, and retirement contribution rate.

THE DEPARTMENT

As the Child Abuse Prevention Council of San Bernardino County, Children’s Network works with community and county partners to develop collaborative partnerships that focus on educating and increasing awareness efforts to reduce the rates of child abuse and neglect in the County. Our programs and educational campaigns all have one overarching goal: developing the foundational capacity of our county and community service providers and the community at large, so that they can provide the appropriate care and resources to our children and families. Our program coordinators achieve this goal by providing various training opportunities, promoting public awareness and educational campaigns, attending outreach events, and developing collaborative partnerships with county and community partners.

The mission of Children's Network is to coordinate preventative programs and services through collaboration and engagement with community and county partners to strengthen and promote child, family, and community well-being.

Children's Network envisions positive outcomes for children and families in San Bernardino County. This is achieved through active and engaged collaborations of county and community partners, relevant training opportunities for service providers, and promoting public awareness and shared understanding of risk factors of child abuse and neglect.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Work Schedule: Assignments and attendance at meetings and conferences, sometimes occurring after normal business hours and weekends, necessitates a flexible work schedule.

Travel: Travel within and outside the County is required. A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained throughout employment.

Background Process: Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and medical examination, which will include drug/alcohol screening.

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have education and experience commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral/social science or public/business administration or a closely related field.

Experience Option 1:
Two (2) years of experience establishing and developing collaborative coalitions between government agencies, private sector entities, faith based organizations, and other community stakeholders.
Option 2:
Two (2) years of experience within a human services or social services setting primarily performing highly responsible analytical duties in one of the following areas: 1) administrative and operational oversight of program/project development activities for agency/department programs; 2) supervising/managing staff who perform eligibility determination, employment services, social work case management, welfare/transitional assistance program appeals and complaints processing, or quality review/control.

Experience: Qualifying experience must include at least one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience over administrative support or program staff. Lead or supervisory experience can be concurrent with experience listed above.

  • Knowledge of critical issues affecting children and resources, services, and programs available to create solutions.
