Position Description
Performs routine pre-award and/or post-award sponsored programs activities associated with management and oversight of the life cycle of awards.

Major/Essential Functions
The strategic goal of the School of Health Professions (SHP) Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) is to advance scholarly activities among faculty and students by providing an infrastructure and an environment which supports clinical knowledge and practice through collaborative research in basic, applied, and translational sciences. In order to support a growing research footprint, SHP ORI is seeking to hire a research administrator. This research administrator would help support pre- and post-award grant activities, allowing current team members to expand resources, develop programming, increase research awareness/effectiveness, and support more faculty.

The Research Administrator will be responsible for:
  • Assisting SHP faculty with the development and technical writing of research protocols.
  • Supporting SHP team members with post-award receipt and management (i.e. documentation, fiscal monitoring, reporting, etc.).
  • Seeking out new funding opportunities through prospecting. Match federal, state, and private funding opportunities to SHP faculty, staff, and graduate student research and innovation initiatives.
  • Acquiring and interpreting up-to-date knowledge of funding and federal programs.
  • Supporting SHP team members in the preparation and submission of external grant proposals (proposal project management, compiling of documents and the Cayuse system).
  • Helping to maintain the SHP Research & Innovation website content and resource updates.
  • Assisting with SHP internal Faculty Assistance and Sponsorship programs.
  • Collaborating with SHP Research & Innovation faculty and staff to grow the SHP research footprint.
  • Collaborating with SHP Research & Innovation team members to develop programming and resources to support SHP faculty research.
  • Helping SHP Research & Innovation plan and execute the Endowed Lecture Series each year.
  • Collaborating with faculty for the Swift Card participant payment program for SHP sponsored research.
  • This valuable team member will support our vision and mission by consistently performing work in a manner demonstrating professional maturity, commitment and accountability according to the five values described in TTUHSCs Values-Based Culture: One Team, Kindhearted, Integrity, Visionary and Beyond Service.

    The successful candidate must have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse community including students, faculty, administrators, and industry, as well as federal, state, and private agencies. Must possess an open communication style, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong customer service skills. Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to multi-task, and pay close attention to detail in a multidisciplinary research environment. Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience OR combination of education and experience to equal five years.
