What You'll Be Doing

Do you want to help end hunger, and improve the health and nutrition of families in Wake County? If yes, then apply to our position of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), Eligibility Team Lead, in the Economic and Social Services Division. Bring your expertise to help eligible low income households thrive, by ensuring they are able to get food they need for nutritionally adequate diets.

As an FNS Eligibility Team Lead, your duties include:
  • Assigning work to staff; acting as a resource for handling complex cases
  • Answering staff policy questions; preparing and presenting minor training to staff as needed
  • Meeting regularly with trainees to check work and progress; providing mentoring guidance and support to trainees
  • Maintaining case action and case management responsibility for vacant caseloads and absences
  • Completing quality reviews of staff casework, and answering general public and facility inquiries

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Associate's degree in Human Services or a related field
  • Two years of job-related experience
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted


Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Two or more years of case manager experience in Food and Nutrition Services Experience working in NC Fast

  • The ability to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
  • The ability to apply complex policy to determine client eligibility, instruct staff, and monitor eligibility determinations
