Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3,865 - $4,050 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,865 - $6,336 per month

This is a full-time, probationary, non-exempt position.

Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Tribal Relations, the individual will provide administrative and clerical support for the Director of Tribal Relations and the Repatriation Coordinator. The individual will support office operations and budgeting, as well ensure that all University processes, requirements, and deadlines are accurately and promptly met. This position requires considerable discretion and judgment in order to effectively coordinate and support all functions related to office operations, including budgeting, scheduling, travel, collaboration, and communications. This individual will serve as the office coordinator.

Key Qualifications
  • Understand government to government protocols and ability to learn to consult with and convene tribes and tribal organizations.
  • Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
  • Ability to serve as a resource to students, staff and the community in responding to inquiries and providing detailed information concerning programs and events.
  • Troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to work area.
  • Work with frequent interruptions while juggling multiple assignments and accept on-going
    changes (operational/personnel) adjust priorities and be responsive to short notice requests and deadlines.
  • Independently interpret and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations.
  • Draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, and four years of progressively responsible office administrative support or equivalent training and work experience.
