Position Description The City of Fresno is recruiting an Assistant Director who will oversee the Transportation Project Management Division of the Capital Projects Department. The Assistant Director for Transportation Project Management is responsible for the daily operations of the division and works directly with division managers and their staff, along with engineering and project management staff, client departments and contractors. The Transportation Project Management Division provides project management and consultant oversight for the City's capital program. Incumbents will exercise considerable judgment and discretion in the administration and direction of the department and its operations. In addition, the Assistant Director acts as technical advisor to the Director and City Manager and attends meetings of the City Council, boards, commissions, and committees relevant to Capital Projects and related services. The Assistant Director participates in the preparation and administration of the Department's annual operating and capital budgets and is expected to coordinate activities with other departments within the City of Fresno, as well as division sections and outside agencies. Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule Compensation and Benefits (Unit 2 Classification) The City of Fresno offers an attractive and competitive salary and benefits package. The salary for the Assistant Director is $115,056 up to $192,888. Supplemental Information Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with California State University, Fresno. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment. The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
