This position will report to the Reno Consultation Supervisor: Safety Specialists under close supervision, receive training in performing safety consultations at workplaces throughout Northeast Nevada. Incumbents perform the full range of duties outlined in the series concept. Incumbents regularly receive complex assignments requiring a broad knowledge of a variety of industries or specialized expertise in a particular industry or process. Incumbents orient and train Safety Associates and Representatives, may serve in a lead capacity on functional or team assignments, and may be assigned to focus on special projects. This is the journey level in the series and will be expected to perform at a high level within three months of hire. The Incumbent will promote safety practices, perform consultations independently, and educate employers on State and Federal safety laws and regulations (e.g. NRS 618, NAC 618, 29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926).
