Position Description
This position is responsible for providing primary ambulatory medical care. This includes examination of patients, ordering x-rays and laboratory tests to help make an accurate diagnosis, and planning and execution of treatment. The person in this position works in a busy, pressured environment and sees a high volume of patients each day.

Major/Essential Functions
Student Health Services at Texas Tech University is the on-campus medical care clinic exclusively for Texas Tech students. The mission of Student Health Services is to proudly provide compassionate, high-quality and accessible healthcare to Texas Tech students. This primary care clinic is an exciting place to work. It is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where patients always come first.

This position will support our mission by:
  • Providing immediate care for medical emergencies of patients
  • Providing general supervision to nursing staff
  • Providing direct supervision to Residents
  • Coordinating lectures, conferences and in-service training for medical staff within the department during less busy times in the academic year
  • Strong interest in providing patient care for college students, including mental health and women's health
  • Interest in supervising Advanced Practice Providers


Required Qualifications
Education: Graduated from an approved accredited School of Medicine with an M.D. or D.O. degree.
License/Certification: Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas or have the ability to transfer your license to Texas.
Certificate or license for prescribing controlled substances.
Experience: At least three years post-graduate training in primary care medicine.
