Salary Range: $3,505 - $5,159/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range: $3,505 - $5,159/Monthly)

Work Schedule : Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; temporary appointment expires on or before one-year from date of hire, may be extended, may become permanent; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions : Under the general supervision of the Administrative Support Coordinator, the incumbent serves as the main receptionist for the School of Criminal Justice and Criminalistics. The incumbent works with students, faculty, and staff on a daily basis and with other offices as needed. Duties include providing clerical/administrative services in support of the day to day management functions; and assisting students with general registration, completing forms and degree requirement deadlines. The incumbent will distribute incoming mail; deliver on-campus mail; update and verify information related to enrollment, process key requests, quarterly textbook requests; answer, screen, and refer all calls to appropriate personnel; maintain all student related files; office supply inventory and act as primary contact for equipment repairs; provides routine information such as departmental office hours in addition to other Schools, Departments and Centers within the College of Health and Human Services. Screens and answers all telephone call and direct callers to the appropriate person or persons; makes appointments as required; refers telephone calls and visitors to appropriate school faculty/staff members within the school and alerts the Administrative Support Coordinator of any conflicts; makes arrangements for committee meetings when requested by the Chair and/or Administrative Support Coordinator II; assists in maintaining inventory of materials, office supplies and equipment, and replenishes the supplies as necessary. Processes purchase requisitions through the Administrative Support Coordinator II for approval with chair; and processes all copying/duplicating requests.

Required Qualifications & Experience : Equivalent to two years of general office experience, which included providing work direction or acting as a lead to lower level staff. The incumbent must be computer literate and able to use standard word processing such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The incumbent must possess good organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; and an understanding of standard office procedures. The incumbent must have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work; operate standard office equipment; respond to routine inquiries and explain standard policies and procedures; perform basic arithmetic calculations; multi-task and complete assignments in a timely fashion; and to work under pressure and handle a heavy workload. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University.
