Job Description

Hourly range: $17.26-$25.92

General Description and Classification

Inspects and maintain airport grounds, roadways, fence lines, airfield grounds and hardscapes such as taxiways and runways, storm drains etc. Duties may include, but are not limited to: performing grounds maintenance, mowing, edging, pressure washing, spraying, FOD removal, commercial grade equipment usage, and snow and ice removal etc. within secured and unsecured areas of the airport. Areas include fence lines, guard rails, security gates, walkways, runways, roadways, taxiways, terminals etc. This a skilled position with moderate supervision, standard operating procedures with verbal and written instructions will apply.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

Follow assigned instructions and task of Supervisor and or Lead Mechanic.

Attend all assigned and or required training.

Create and pull work orders for CMMS system.

Pick up FOD / Trash to include entire airport property.

Maintains airport grounds using both non-motorized and motorized equipment such as weed eaters, chain saws, blowers, mowers, sprayers etc.

Conduct daily inspections of vehicles and ground equipment.

Maintain airport grounds using tractors with decks, zero turns, remote control mowers skid steers, etc.

Maintain airfield and roadways using sweepers, blowers, snow and ice equipment, dump trucks, etc.

Maintain airport / airfield storm drains with use of vector truck and jetter

Use commercial grade vehicles to assist with airfield and roadway / pavement repairs and snow and ice removal.

Make repairs to SIDA and perimeter fence.

Make repairs to pavement and concrete on airport properties including airfield.

Striping and marking roadways and ramp areas

Knowledge

In depth knowledge of landscaping and landscaping equipment.

Ability to inspect and operate landscaping equipment to include commercial grade vehicles, tractors with mowing decks, zero turns, and all hand held motorized landscaping equipment.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • 3 - 7 years landscaping
  • Commercial grade equipment operator

Education / Certifications
  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Trade or Technical school preferred

Licensures

CDL Class B preferred
