The Position

Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) is recruiting for Licensed Psychologist 1 positions at Stein Forensic Facility in Las Vegas. Incumbents perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. Duties may include formulating behavior plans & token economy programs; conducting competency evaluations, psychological assessments, risk assessments; & assisting in crisis intervention. Psychologists serve on interdisciplinary treatment teams, are consultants to other departments, develop programming, and may provide group & individual therapy. Psychologists may provide clinical supervision for trainees, including doctoral psychology interns for our APA-accredited internship. Incumbents will demonstrate interest in working with a marginalized, underserved, and diverse client population. Candidates possess and maintain current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the NV Board of Psychological Examiners as a condition of employment & a NV Driver's license. Licensed Psychologists report to a Licensed Psychologist 2. Incumbents work an innovative variable schedule, are exempt from overtime, and must complete all required trainings & certifications. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting. Special Requirements Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. Some positions require work on evenings, weekends and holidays. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
