Description Develops and manages custom computer systems and databases for the Solicitor's Office; and performs directly related work as required. For seven weeks, Program Director works at the campsite while the Camp is open. During camp, the Program Director has oversight of all camp functions and uses broad discretion to makes judgments and decisions in collaboration with the assigned Recreation Staff within the overall policy guidelines established by the department. This position will live onsite Monday night through Friday morning. Room and board is provided. May perform other duties as assigned. • Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for a City Recreational Summer Camp; • Plans, organizes and directs, through subordinate supervisors, the operation of the camp administrative, recreation programs, food service, maintenance and medical care functions; • In collaboration with assigned Recreation Staff reviews and evaluates the work of camp staff, including taking disciplinary action; • Ensures compliance of camp facilities and activities to pertinent codes, regulations and guidelines; monitors developments related to camp construction and maintenance, evaluates their impact and implements policy and procedure improvements; • Establishes and maintains good public relations with citizens, civic groups, and other departments of governmental agencies. • Prepares or reviews and maintains a wide variety of written reports and records, including reports on camp registration and rental fees, personnel records, periodic progress reports on camp activities, accident reports; prepares maintenance requests and requisitions; • Assists in the development of policy and implements procedures to ensure the health and safety of campers and camp staff, sanitary and safe facilities, and camp security; and performs related work as assigned. Demonstrates an ability to explore, interpret, and summarize requirements to develop well written, concise programming specifications, procedures, and functions designed to implement requested changes and/or new development. Supervises the development and application of standards and procedures necessary to develop, install, and maintain efficient computer information technology systems. Desired skills and knowledge: Extensive knowledge of data query and manipulation techniques, various computer applications, and principles and practices of computer information technology. Ability to provide leadership, supervision, and training to professional, technical and related program staff. Ability to develop short and long-range plans that meet established objectives and contribute to the overall goals and mission of the agency. Ability to organize and direct the preparation and maintenance of standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, program documentation and technical manuals. Minimum qualifications: (The following statement represents the minimum education and experience which will be used to determine qualifications of applicants. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.)
