Work assignments require professional interaction at the highest levels within and outside the university. Key Qualifications This position requires a high school degree or technical/vocational program degree, and a minimum of two years administrative work experience involving program administration and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development of improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. Intermediate knowledge and experience with database systems and experience working in a university setting with college-aged students is preferred. Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Knowledge of Google Suite, computerized work control system, Smartsheet and PeopleSoft preferred. Job Summary Under general direction of the Director of Equity and Access Programs, the EOP Advisor and Summer Bridge Coordinator performs in-depth analysis of highly complex professional Student Services Professional work and is responsible for utilizing a combination of high-level analytical and high-level interpersonal skills in coordinating aspects of the design, coordination, and implementation of the Summer Bridge Program. The incumbent is responsible for working as a team member with fellow staff members and performs a wide variety of generally complex Student Services Professional work by providing comprehensive academic advising services to students. This includes, but is not limited to, understanding and fulfilling their degree requirements, collaborating with students on their individualized educational pathways, creating academic plans and schedules, assisting in declaring majors/minors, and supporting students in making decisions concerning their learning experiences, academic goals, persistence, and timely graduation. The incumbent works collaboratively with other Professional Academic Advisors, university staff, faculty, administrators, and coaches to support the educational experience of EOP students, as well as perform other activities related to student success and academic advising. Focus will be given to the EOP and Summer Bridge student population, which includes, but is not limited to, the long-term planning for the recruitment, program eligibility, and on-time graduation of EOP students; addressing identified student challenges; using preventative approaches to solve issues affecting program eligibility and on-time graduation; and collaborating with Academic Affairs, including participating academic departments. Essential Job Functions Plans, organizes, reviews, and prioritizes program objectives to support disaster preparedness in the medical and health sectors of Los Angeles County. Job Summary Reporting to the Senior Director of Counseling and Psychological Services and the Student Health Center (Senior Director), the Associate Director of Counseling and Psychological Services provides innovative, strategic, and comprehensive leadership for the daily operations of the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) department. The primary role of this position is to oversee and coordinate all CAPS programs and services including: direct counseling to students, group counseling, outreach, training, and consultation services to the SSU Community. In addition, this role will supervise the Confidential Sexual Assault Victim’s Advocate Coordinator. This role will also be responsible for and provide support on technology systems utilized by CAPS (e.g., Titanium) and the Student Health Center (e.g., Point N Click). The incumbent serves as a critical member of the mental and physical health leadership team and collaborates closely with the Senior Director, Student Health Center, and other division and campus partners (e.g. Residential Education, Office for Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination, Dean of Students, Disability Services, University Police, etc.) to design, implement and evaluate mental health programs, especially in the area of primary prevention, for a largely undergraduate residential population. Additionally, in the absence of the Senior Director, the incumbent acts on their behalf for CAPS. Key Qualifications This position requires five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in psychological practice applicable to an outpatient or college health environment, along with five or more years of increasingly strong administrative and leadership skills.
