POSITION INFORMATION Placer County is currently accepting applications for Junior Engineer and Assistant Engineer to fill vacancies in the Department of Public Works (Engineering Division, WPWMA and Environmental Utilities Division) and the Community Development Resource Agency . Department of Public Works - Engineering Division: This division is responsible for the design and construction of capital improvement projects on the western slope of Placer County. Examples of projects include bridge replacement projects, roadway widening projects, bike facilities, pedestrian walkways, and more. Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA): This division is located in Roseville and directly serves the solid waste processing facility, landfill and other onsite industries. The WPWMA is tasked with the oversight of all facility operations, regulatory compliance, permitting and facility improvements. This position is more specifically tasked with the creation and review of construction projects for facility improvements projects, the direct oversight of construction contractors, and the review of all design elements for varying sitewide operations/projects. The ideal candidate would demonstrate the ability to perform the following tasks: interpret and implement regulations; read, interpret, and write construction/operations contract and reports; apply general engineering judgment to the design of civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation/controls engineering projects; maintain good working relationships with coworkers, contractors, consultants, customers, and operators.
