Participates in multidisciplinary team conferences and collaborates with other mental health staff to develop the most effective treatment plan. Provides direct client care, completes required documentation, updates treatment team regarding client progress. Provides client, family members and significant others with referrals and linkage to community resources. Provides consultation to community agencies in the utilization of mental health and supportservices provided by directly operated clinics, in-patient facilities and contractors of the department. Provides in-service training to departmental staff and volunteers in the identification and treatment of mentally disordered individuals, principles of crisis intervention and management of assaultive behavior. Participates as a member of a Crisis Response Team in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Coordinate the activities of a Psychiatric Mobile Response Team or similar service teamwith law enforcement, courts, schools and other agencies, to assist and evaluate clients who are deemed to be a danger to themselves or others. Serve as a member of a Homeless Outreach and Engagement Team, providing initial assessments in the field and linking homeless mentally ill to mental health services. Coordinate the work of Psychiatric Technicians or others in the delivery of mental health services at an in-patient or out-patient facility. Coordinate or develop psychological rehabilitation programs for the chronically and persistently mentally ill. Lead and provide technical supervision to lower-level psychiatric technicians and supportstaff assigned to provide mental health services at an inpatient or outpatient facility. Serve as mental health service gatekeeper at the mental health ACCESS and Telecommunications Center, performing triage on caller requests for service, referring caller to an appropriate treatment source, and/or dispatching a psychiatric mobile response team. Assists Psychiatrists in completing and checking for accuracy on Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) and Prior Authorization (PA) forms. Promptly responds to phone calls / walk ins from clients regarding medication-related issues (i.e. medication side effects, pharmacy dispensing issues, refill needs) and consults with Psychiatrists and/or Register Nurses regarding those issues. Maintains medication inventory, organization, expiration dates, room/refrigerator temperature logs in the Medication Room. Orders supplies for Medication Room (i.e. sharps containers, syringes, needles, gloves, alcohol swabs, etc.) Maintains a caseload of clients and facilitate routine follow up and case management services as needed. Works in conjunction with other team members to facilitate services within Care Clinic Model. Prepares and signs the application for immediate 72-hour detention of disturbed psychiatric clients if Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) designated by the Office of Medical Director. Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Two years of experience at the level of Psychiatric Technician II in the County of Los Angeles * . LICENSE(S) REQUIRED Possession of a current, active and valid California State License to practice as a Psychiatric Technician ** . DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS District Attorney Services Specialist I This is the entry-level class for District Attorney Services Specialist series. Incumbent will process reports and documents in strict adherence to State law and Department procedures. Incumbent is expected to keep current on changes in report and document processing requirements. Incumbent will operate a Departmental case management system and related systems in strict accordance with the law. This class series requires the ability to provide appropriate information and answer basic questions from the public related to the criminal justice system, both in-person and over the telephone. District Attorney Services Specialist II This is the journey level position within the series. In addition to the above, incumbents will be assigned to more increasingly difficult tasks within the Department, including being responsive to the needs of victims of crimes, demonstrating sensitivity to and establishing rapport with victims of crime, and exhibiting emotional stability under conditions of high stress. Incumbents will be able to assist victims in recovering their personal property held in evidence, facilitate victim compensation applications, and provide court accompaniment. District Attorney Services Specialist III This is the advanced level position within the series. Incumbents are responsible for the more complex assignments, including vertical assignments to a trial team in complex and high-profile cases, and work with greater independence from close review. District Attorney Services Specialist IV This is the senior level position within the series. POSITION PURPOSE: The Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment (IRPA) provides information and data analysis in support of budgeting, operations, planning, and policy determinations at California State University, Bakersfield. This office maintains databases of historical and current facts about the University including applications, enrollments, degrees granted, demographics, test scores, grades, courses, and outcomes. It conducts surveys of students and faculty for the assessment of programs and services and provides feedback for quality improvement. Planning staff also provide consultation to other campus units in conducting assessments of their programs and technical support in data analysis and reporting. The Research Analyst, under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research, Planning and Assessment, is responsible for collaborating with senior staff at IRPA for institutional data analysis, data quality, survey administration, and data visualization. The incumbent will undertake quantitative analysis of various institutional data related to enrollment and student success, execute research studies, interpret the data, and effectively disseminate the findings with university constituents in such a way that they will be useful for decision-making and institutional improvement. The incumbent will participate in data quality assurance and data integrity checking; create meaningful interpretations and presentation of research findings for reports; and support the AVP for organizing workflow system. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Data Validation Procedures Prepare, implement, and communicate data validation procedures. Perform a variety of duties related to ensuring data integrity including data cleaning, documentation, audits, and quality control processes. Review data submissions for completeness and accuracy. Develop and manage edit checks for supporting data quality. Identify gaps and interpret, summarize, and communicate findings to improve data quality. Statistical Analysis Analyze large complex datasets; interpret and summarize study results. Develop reports and other methods to present information that highlight primary metrics and findings. Perform statistical procedures related to sampling, correlation analysis, projections and other quantitative/qualitative measures applied in institutional research. Respond to and evaluate ad hoc requests for data, research projects and studies. Visualization Solutions Development Gather, compile, analyze research data, and present data using visualization tools to guide data-informed decisions. Create and maintain data visualizations that thoughtfully convey key research insights and provide an interactive opportunity for public engagement. Convert mockups into functional data visualizations. Provide support for end users of Tableau Server. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in technical research or statistical work in the collection, compilation, and analysis of data. Additional experience which has demonstrated that the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledges and abilities delineated above may be substituted for the required education on a year-to-year basis. Graduate study in the social sciences, economics, mathematics, statistics, public or business administration, or engineering may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (social science, education, business, or computer science) with a concentration in quantitative research methods, statistics, and data analysis. Master’s degree in a related field. Experience in Institutional Research, academic assessment and/or institutional research theory and practice at the higher education level. Experience with data terminology, data analytic strategies and optimizing outcomes/analyses. Experience in writing SAS, SPSS syntax to produce analyses, or experience in manipulating large datasets, SQL, and data visualization. Experience with Python, SQL.
