Salary Range: $18.24-$29.44/hour
Work Location: City Hall, 5th Floor
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday; 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.

Serves as the primary public/business point of contact for Public Works permit sales. Directly coordinates with the Inspection Section. Reviews traffic control plans, utility excavation plans, and manages the sale and issuance of ten other types of public right of way permits. Reviews and coordinates street closures and detours throughout the city. Provides input to a significant number of 311 calls on private work within the public right-of-way. May also review major city and private events for their coordination with existing traffic control permits.
REQUIRES high school graduation and 5years of related and increasingly responsible experience in engineering drawing, mapping, automated mapping, (GIS) and equipment, (CADD), engineering, land survey, construction inspection and related fields OR high school graduation and 2 years of experience at the level of Engineering Technician and possession of one of the following certifications: Level II Engineering Technology Certification in any Civil, Electrical or Mechanical discipline as issued by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) OR "Land Surveyor in Training" as issued by the MO Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects OR Class B Wastewater Collections System Certification from the MO Water Environmental Association; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

For positions requiring college education as part of the minimum requirement and/or an equivalency, the minimum education requirement is high school graduation. The requirement of "high school graduation" also includes the state-issued GED certificate.
For positions that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional, responsible experience must be obtained AFTER receipt of the accredited degree.
Unless otherwise stated, the requirement of "an accredited" degree includes only those degrees obtained from colleges or universities listed with the U. S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
