The Sr. Recreation Programmer job responsibilities include : Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of recreational, educational, leisure, athletic programs and life skill development community programs and events. Coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public; and provide responsible staff assistance to management staff. Participate in the development and implementation of program components for youth by providing effective, meaningful, and developmentally-appropriate activities. Plan and lead services for afterschool, school break camps and summer day camp, including development of lesson plans, registration process, communication with parents, supervising activities and supplies ordering Develop recreation, educational and life skills programs for at-risk youth and young adults Provide support and mentoring through engaging youth in programs and services. Provide appropriate supervision for youth at all times by creating safe spaces to talk and demonstrate self-expression through group, recreational, educational and live skill activities. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees. Participate from outreach events to develop partnerships and promote services offered at the Community Center. Assists with set up and breaking down tables and chairs for activities and events as well as with other similar maintenance duties. Other related duties as assigned.
