THE RMA - BUILDING SERVICES DEPARTMENT
Building Services is a department in the County’s Resource Management Agency (RMA). The RMA was created in October 2005 to incorporate key land use and infrastructure departments into a single functional agency. Located within the RMA are the Planning Department, Building Services Department, Public Works Department, and the Housing and Redevelopment Office.
The Building Services Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with State-mandated and County-adopted uniform building codes. The Building Services Department oversees grading and erosion control and permitting, as well as building inspection, engineering plan check services, permit centers, code enforcement and records management.
