THE POSITION THIS POSITION IS IN THE WASTEWATER DIVISION The Utilities Operations and Maintenance Leadworker, in the Wastewater Collections division, is responsible for the technical supervision and safety of a Wastewater field crew. In addition, this position is responsible for the more complex and difficult construction, repair, and maintenance tasks in the Wastewater Collections Systems. IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and be capable of working with multiple people assigned to their field crew. The ideal candidate will be capable of making independent good decisions to accomplish their daily tasks, in a safe, efficient manner. Additionally, this candidate will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with their supervisor, their field crew, and the public. They will have knowledge of Wastewater Collections regulations, procedures, and operations. The ideal candidate will also have basic computer skills, knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), the ability to utilize City email, complete routine forms and documents, and submit required reports as needed. To perform skilled work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of water distribution, wastewater collection, and storm drainage systems and assests; and to provide lead guidance and direction to the work of a water, wastewater, and drainage field crew. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This is the advanced-journey level classification. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED General supervision is provided by a Utilities Operations and Maintenance Supervisor or higher-level management. Responsibilities include lead direction and technical supervision of Utilities Operations and Maintenance Serviceworker and Utilities Operations and Maintenance Serviceworker Apprentice positions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties are typical for this classification. THE POSITION THIS POSITION IS IN THE WASTEWATER DIVISION The Utilities Operations and Maintenance Leadworker, in the Wastewater Collections division, is responsible for the technical supervision and safety of a Wastewater field crew.
