The incumbent will be expected to live onsite or within one hour of Family Camp during the months of March through October as well as be readily available to make bi-monthly (twice a month) visits and repairs to Camp through the winter months of November through February (this includes during times of inclement weather). Become familiar with and follow all procurement rules and procedures. Communicate openly and effectively with the public, external stakeholders, supervisors and subordinates. Assist with stewardship of resources, both natural and cultural. Participate in controlled burns, invasive plant removal and other resource management related projects. Participate in off-site controlled burns at other parks in the unit, and/or to help meet Region or Statewide management goals. Maintain a working knowledge of park rules, regulations, procedures and policies. Attend mandatory and other trainings including overnight stays to learn new or enhance existing skills. Fire Certification, S-190 or MDC Level 1, must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment. These positions will be required to have certifications in wastewater operation and/or water distribution or other required certifications depending on facility operation plan, If you do not have current certification, you will be given 12 months from appointment date to obtain the necessary certifications. Direct and perform facility maintenance and upkeep according to facility plans, including vehicle and equipment maintenance, routine preventive maintenance, grounds keeping, buildings and structures maintenance, infrastructure and tree trimming. Must be able to perform some minor vehicle and equipment repairs on site Purchase operating supplies, parts and project materials as necessary. Become familiar with and follow all procurement rules and procedures. Communicate openly and effectively with the public, external stakeholders, supervisors and subordinates. Assist with stewardship of resources, both natural and cultural. Participate in controlled burns, invasive plant removal and other resource management related projects. Participate in off-site controlled burns at other parks in the unit, and/or to help meet Region or Statewide management goals. Maintain a working knowledge of park rules, regulations, procedures and policies. Attend mandatory and other trainings including overnight stays to learn new or enhance existing skills. Fire Certification, S-190 or MDC Level 1, must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment. These positions will be required to have certifications in wastewater operation and/or water distribution or other required certifications depending on facility operation plan, If you do not have current certification, you will be given 12 months from appointment date to obtain the necessary certifications. Plumbing and Pipefitting: Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to install, maintain, or repair pipelines, pipe systems, and fixtures, including water, air, steam, gas, chemicals, or sewage. Problem Solving : Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make Equivalent to those typically gained by: One to three years of experience in a variety of trade areas including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair.
