Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Project Manager for Plants and Major Projects is responsible for execution of complex water, wastewater, and recycled water facility projects with SAWS-wide implications to include establishing goals and objectives, measures of success, developing project plans, determining resource requirements, and tracking all facets of the project, with regular reporting to management. Supervises, develops, trains, and evaluates performance of team members. Mentors project team members to ensure an efficient, self-managed team. POSITION SUMMARY The Department of Public Works Engineering Division is seeking a Senior Project Manager. This position supports the Division's Manager, is highly advanced supervisory and professional project and engineering work of considerable difficulty involving a wide variety of projects, including the supervision of a major work group. Manages the administration of Utilities Department construction contracts; payments, inspection, compliance and quality control. Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned service areas, programs, and operations; recommends and administers policies and procedures. Develops policies, procedures, and standards for water and wastewater systems design, operation, and maintenance; plans for the Division's capital improvement/replacement program. Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; recommends, within division and departmental policy, appropriate service and staffing levels.
