Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform the less difficult and non-controversial assignments in the District Attorney's Office under the direction and guidance of the District Attorney and more senior attorneys. Incumbents normally advance to the higher level of Deputy District Attorney II after gaining experience, achieving proficiency and demonstrating the ability to perform tasks as assigned that meet the requirements for Deputy District Attorney II. Deputy District Attorney II is the journey level classification in this flexible series. Under general supervision, through formal and informal work review, incumbents perform a full range of assignments. Positions at this level are normally filled by advancement from the Deputy District Attorney I level.
