CLASSIFICATION STANDARDS Positions allocable to this paired, entry-level Records System clerical class typically report to and receive close administrative and technical supervision from a Supervising Records System Clerk, Sheriff within the Records and Identification Bureau. Incumbents receive instruction, training, and gain the necessary experience in specialized law enforcement clerical functions to qualify for promotion to the journey-level class of Records System Clerk II, Sheriff. Incumbents are required to work shift hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Commensurate with the concept of paired classes, incumbents in the Records System Clerk I, Sheriff classification are expected to gain the appropriate experience, based on instruction and training, to achieve proficiency in clerical procedures and promote to the journey-level Records System Clerk II, Sheriff following the one-year training period. Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OPTION A: One year of experience at the level of County of Los Angeles class of Intermediate Clerk or Intermediate Typist-Clerk * performing specialized clerical functions or assisting higher-level clerical staff performing clerical functions in the Records and Identification Bureau of the Sheriff's Department.
