Loads and unloads equipment, tools, gravel, sand, and other products, supplies or materials related to light and heavy-duty maintenance and repair activities. Performs maintenance, installation, and repair of water mains, water services, meters, and appurtenance including excavation, backfilling, and compaction of short trenches; cuts, threads, fits, and joins pipes and tubing, and makes taps on water mains. Reads, interprets, corrects, and maintains construction drawings, street maps, atlases, as-builts, survey markings and underground utility markings/signage in the performance of work. Responds to water-related emergency situations and perform emergency work. Sets up safety barricades, delineators, cones, sign boards, flagging, warning signs, and traffic trench plates, and directs traffic to designate job sites in accordance with applicable work zone safety standards. Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment, referring defects or needed repairs to supervisor; maintains records related to inspections, maintenance, and workload activities. Note any changes that may be needed to the Aquarium Maintenance Manual. Field Trip Prep: Assist with communication to teachers; work with program partners to setup Sign Up Genius; monitor sign up to ensure adequate staffing for each field trip. Gather and update (as needed) field trip station materials, specifically water quality and habitat stations (may entail coordination with program partners for Salmon Release and Stream Bug materials); label plants at Clear Creek for habitat station; meet porta potty and possibly storage pod for delivery; send final email reminders to teachers; update/finalize teacher evaluation. Field Trip implementation March 10 - April 2: Staff SitC field trips at Clear Creek Floodplain; once comfortable, complete lead tasks for each field trip; work with program partners to ensure staffing is adequate for each field trip; ensure all station materials are dry and put away after each field trip; send evaluation email to teachers that attended the field trip that day. Minimum 5-6 hours/day, possibly 5 days/week. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Equivalency: will accept an Associate's degree with seven years of related experience or a High School diploma or GED with nine years of related experience) Five years of related experience in Water Utility emergency management. One year of adult education and/or training. Required Licenses/Certifications: Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. Must have a valid passport or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Ten years of related work experience in Water Sector emergency management. Various emergency management experience with several different responding disciplines or organizations (i.e. Fire, Police, EMS, Public Works, federal, state, local, territory, or tribal). WMD/Terrorism awareness training, HazMat and ICS 300 and 400 courses. Water operator and/or wastewater operator license, or journeyman lineman license. Experience teaching in both a face-to-face and live online instructor led setting. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions to deliver training. Ability to support training delivery for up to 8-10 hours/day. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
