The Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority seeks an Open Space Technician II to join our Field Operations team in the work to steward our protected lands and foster positive visitor experiences by maintaining a high standard of care in our open space preserves. The Ideal Candidate You are a hard-working and motivated individual with construction and maintenance experience in parks and open space. You enjoy being outdoors, working with your hands, and take pride in providing an excellent user experiences on our open space lands. You can perform a wide variety of semi-skilled carpentry, building and field maintenance duties using hand and power tools such as chain saws, mowers, sprayers and similar equipment; as well as performing routine maintenance and repair of assigned tools and equipment facilities.
We are seeking qualified technicians to take responsibility for routine maintenance of Authority lands including trails, roads, buildings, and other facilities. Candidates need to have skilled knowledge of operations, services, and activities of an open space maintenance and construction program; principles and practices of maintenance, construction and resource management; standard safety practices; and trade skills in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
Your experience in open space maintenance and resource management enables you to perform well while working independently under general supervision. You enjoy engaging members of the public by communicating the mission, vision and goals of the Authority by answering basic questions and interacting with visitors and neighbors in a friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful manner. As the bridge to the Authority’s volunteer Trail Masters program, this position will identify stewardship projects and coordinate with other staff to engage Trail Masters in completing these projects. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for ensuring that projects are planned and delivered successfully, creating positive experiences for volunteers and delivering needed stewardship work at the Authority’s preserves.

High school diploma or the equivalent, supplemented by college-level coursework in park maintenance, resource management, or a related field;
Three years of experience in open space land management;

HHPZ is open year-round catering to families with children. It operates nine amusement park rides, showcases various endangered species, and operates one of the oldest classical puppet theaters in California, as well as offering many other playgrounds and attractions emphasizing play and imagination in a natural conservation setting. RIDES & ATTRACTIONS : Ride Operators are the conductors of fun and safety and have the responsibility of making a families’ visit memorable. Ride Operators are responsible for cleanliness and safety operation of rides, including learning how their rides and attractions work by conducting daily ride and attraction inspections on top of normal ride operations. DEPARTMENT: Division of Social Work POSITION TITLE: Lecturer Pool - Social Work POSITION DETAILS: The Division of Social Work at Sacramento State is one of the largest accredited social work programs in California. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to training a highly diverse study body to prepare the next generation of social work professionals for our region, and beyond. The Division prepares ethical and competent generalist and specialized social workers who can both lead and serve our richly and intersectionally diverse communities in the development and delivery of psychosocial and clinical services that contribute to human wellbeing and social justice. We offer a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BSW) for generalist practice. For the Master of Social Work degree, we offer three pathways: a traditional two-year program, an extended part-time (three-year) program, and an Advanced Standing (one-year) program for those who hold an accredited BSW degree (within 5 years of application). ABOUT THE POSITION The Clark County Department of Real Property Management is seeking a qualified candidate who will lead and direct Swimming Pool Technicians. This position will evaluate swimming pool conditions and ensure conformity to stay within compliance of the SNHD. They will monitor and inspect swimming pool venues for safety and/or repairs, conduct repairs within their responsibility and request work orders for projects outside of their skill set. The candidate creates chemical purchase orders, uses basic hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers, pressure washers and lifts. They will also perform minor masonry work, plumbing repairs, coordinate and review contracted work, attend design and construction meetings. Installs, maintains, repairs and replaces a variety of pipes, valves, fixtures, drains, basins, faucets, drinking fountains, lavatories and similar plumbing items buildings and facilities related to County swimming pools. Estimates repair needs, including materials and supplies, required to effect installation and repair of swimming pool and related equipment. Maintains accurate records of work performed, including chemical application and standardized test results; reports materials and supplies used and maintains a basic inventory of required materials. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Drives a County motor vehicle to various pool sites, transports pool chemicals for maintaining and cleaning swimming pools. May perform a variety of related maintenance work, including carpentry, concrete placement and finishing, painting and similar semi-skilled work in the maintenance of pool facilities. Provides information to pool operations staff regarding pool equipment and chemical balances.
