Workdays & Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM* S ubject to change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs routine functions within the customer service section of Park Houston. Duties include dispatching for boots and tows, responding to customers concerns received via phone, mail, email, and face-to-face walk-ins. Assisting with the processing of various permits, citation entry, and payment processing. Processes and updates parking data in database. Interprets and explains rules, procedures, and ordinances to the public. Research information to solve customer inquiries. Processes mail. Performs other duties as requested.
WORKING CONDITIONS The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. Normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION Requires a high school diploma or a GED.
EXPERIENCE: Three years of administrative or customer service-related experience are required.
Substitutions: Associate’s degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience. Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the years of experience.

PREFERENCES** Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6. ** Preference will be given to applicants who have documented experience performing the essential duties described above. Exhibits attention to details, ability to multi-task, positive attitude, and ability to quickly adapt to change. Intermediate or higher knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential. Prior experience in a fast-paced workplace is preferable.
