  • Job Description

    Job Summary:

    Provide quality instruction for the benefit of the participants. The salary range for this position is $15.52- $20.96 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. This opportunity will be remain open until filled.

    Essential Functions:
    • Instruct registered participants; develop and implement age appropriate lesson plans.
    • Participate in required training.
    • Inspect classroom /program environment and equipment to ensure safety, handle emergencies according to established procedures.
    • Complete administrative tasks such as skills assessment of participants, attendance sheets, class evaluations and class description for brochures.
    • Provide make-up sessions as required.
    • Ongoing clear communication and excellent customer service required.

    Other Job Functions:
    • May assist with special events.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Education:
    • High School graduate or GED preferred.

    Experience:
    • 1 year previous teaching experience required.
    • Course work in recreation or related field preferred.

    Certifications:
    • Instructor certification through discipline Association preferred.
    • May be required to obtain First aid and CPR certification within 60 days of employment.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of discipline/activity required.
    • Strong oral communication skills.
    • Work with a diverse group of people effectively and diplomatically.
    • Strong customer service skills are required and necessary.
    • Handle difficult situations involving participants with patience, good judgment and with diplomacy.
    • Must demonstrate competent organizational and planning skills.

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
    • Frequent l ight to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools.
    • Occasional e xposure to hazards typically found in general office environments where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.

    Non-Benefit Eligible Benefits Package Includes:
