POSITION: Under close supervision, performs account management for utilities, parking citations, and business license services.

TASKS: - Assists with maintenance of utility records for the City's sewer and water utilities;
- Prepares monthly meter reader books and assists meter readers in obtaining accurate information.
- Receives and posts utility, parking citations, business licenses, and other revenue payments;
- Sorts and files correspondence, checks, vouchers, and other materials, numerically, alphabetically, or other prescribed methods.
- Sets up new accounts and verifies addresses and other personal account information to process open and close service request requests.
- Produce letters, memoranda, reports, tabulations, and other finance/revenue-related materials.
- Update and track a variety of electronic and paper files, records, reports, logs, and related documents
QUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma or equivalent
AND two (2) years of experience in administrative work, preferably in a Utilities Department or governmental organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS - Knowledgeable of quality customer service techniques and concepts, bill payment and overdue payment process and procedures, and customer account maintenance techniques;
- Skilled in generating, reviewing, and maintaining account information for customers, calculating payments accurately, following and providing oral and written instructions in English, and establishing and maintaining productive working relationships;
- Ability to prioritize work and proper documentation techniques, perform essential duties with little supervision, and effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
- Proficient in using work-related computer applications, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, the internet, and other electronic devices to perform essential job duties.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Work is performed in an indoor office environment. The position requires incumbents to sit for long periods, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, speak and hear, and push, pull, or lift 10 pounds occasionally.
THE SELECTION PROCESS Applicants whose experience best meets the city's needs will be invited to participate in the examination for this position. Candidates must have access to a computer with internet, video, and audio capabilities to participate in our examination process.The examination may consist of one or more of the following: (1) Training & Experience Evaluation, (2) Writing Exercise, and (3) Qualifications Appraisal Interview with a panel of subject matter experts. Candidates must receive a score of 70 or higher to have their names placed on the active eligibility list for one year.
