Full-time position available with the Health Department, Behavioral Health & Injury Prevention Division located at 2400 Troost Ave - limited term merit ends February 2026
Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Performs goal setting, asset mapping, gap analysis, and data tracking & monitoring of the Building Local Continuums of Care to Support Youth Success grant program.
  • Ensures effective oversight of all planning activities, including partner engagement, scheduling, contracts and subawards, reporting, community outreach and engagement, and other activities necessary to achieve the goal, objectives, and deliverables of the project.
  • Performs data collection, analysis, and statistical reporting, preferably in public health or community health programs.
  • Demonstrates experience in partner engagement, contract management, and community outreach.
  • Manages grants, subawards, and reporting requirements.
  • Possesses strong project management skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking project deliverables.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver speeches, write reports, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Possesses analytical skills with the ability to research, survey, and analyze public health data.
  • Develops and implements systems for maintaining accurate accounting and statistical records.
  • Familiar with local, state, and federal public health regulations and programs.
  • Understands community health needs, particularly for youth success and building local continuums of care.
  • Supervises and coordinates program activities, including managing permanent and volunteer staff.
  • Works collaboratively with governmental and community organizations.
  • Possesses strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.



Qualifications

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields.; OR an accredited Master's degree in Public Health; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must pass a preemployment drug screen and post offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
