The Enterprise Messaging & Collaboration TeamwithinInformation Technology (IT) manages applications used Enterprise wide, primarily focused on collaboration and modernization tools. We provide design, implementation and support services to all departments withinWake County.

TheEnterprise Messaging & Collaboration Teamis here to keep everything running smoothly, offer help when needed and make sure systems meet all necessary requirements. Plus, we are always working on new projects and systems to better support ourWake Countyemployees.

As anEnterprise Messaging & Collaboration Systems Specialist, you'll work closely with multiple Divisions within Information Technologyas well as users across theCountyto provide customer support across our platforms.

This role is the primary point of escalation for tickets related to platforms we support and will have you working with multiple people each and every day. Working with the support of the entire Enterprise Messaging & Collaboration team, this role will provide technical expertise and problem-solving skills to address complex issues and ensure the efficient operation of our systems. You will be expected to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues quickly, while also identifying opportunities for improvements and optimizations. In addition, you'll play a key role in the planning and implementation of new technologies and upgrades, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption to services. Your efforts will help maintain high availability, security and performance standards across all collaboration platforms, directly impacting the productivity and satisfaction of Wake County employees.

For positions with a remote work option, all Wake County Government remote workers must reside in one of the following states or districts: North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas or Virginia.

NOTE:This is a 100% remote position and is subject to 24-hour on call requirements.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Two years of experience in information systems support
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

We are looking for individuals with 2+ years’ experience in a combination of the following:
  • Microsoft Office
  • Customer Service (e.g. HelpDesk, Tier 2, etc)
