Supply Manager - Missouri School for the Deaf (MSD), 505 E. 5 th St., Fulton, MO 65251

Salary: $39,720 annually

A 12-month exempt position responsible for directing central storeroom, food service storeroom and laundry services.

Responsible for the receipt, storage and distribution of a large and varied stock of store items. Work includes the receiving, storing and distribution functions of the central supply/laundry department and keeping inventories and records essential to the proper control of supplies. Supervision over all personnel assigned to central supply/laundry department. General supervision is received from an administrative superior who reviews the work for proper adherence to institution policies.

Essential Functions:

The incumbent must have the ability to perform the essential functions below either with or without reasonable accommodations .

  • Receives all food, supplies and equipment; checks for quality & quantity.
  • Certificates and Conformance with specifications shown on the purchase order; rejects all shipments not meeting specifications; certifies "receipt of goods" which is used as the basis for authorizing payment to vendors. Works with Business Office, other campus managers and Statewide Accounting System.
  • Coordinates and supervises the maintenance of all inventory control records, including a perpetual inventory of all stores in the main storerooms, and a property inventory of all physical property and equipment.
  • Manages "stock fund" concept. Keeps records of purchases by cost centers, to include costing of items issued and received. Manages central supply cost center. Prepares budgets for the same.
  • Determines optimum inventory levels; establishes re-order points and standard order size for maximum economy; initiates purchase requisitions for approval when inventory level reaches re-order point.
  • Supervises school laundry function. Insures coordination with athletics, dormitories and infirmary on laundry matters. Budgets for needed laundry supplies, replaces worn linens, blankets, etc.
  • Makes minor purchases when authorized. Supervises or performs purchases and pick up from local area vendors when authorized by a local purchase order.
  • Supervises delivery of materials to campus sections.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Preferred Skills :

  • Considerable knowledge of storekeeping methods and procedures in the receipt, storage and shipment of a variety of goods.
  • Considerable knowledge of various kinds of grades of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of purchase and requisition procedures.
  • Ability to keep perpetual inventory records/cost records.
  • Ability to make inspections for quantity and quality of goods against purchase orders and specifications.
  • Ability to supervise and instruct other workers in laundry procedures, stock handling and record keeping duties.
  • Ability to perform manual labors such as lifting heavy weights.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with students, staff and subordinates as well as other state agencies.
  • Ability to learn the recommended American Sign Language competency level of Survival.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Responsible experience in the keeping of stores and store records or in comparable activities in the receipt and inspection of supplies.
