The Division of Personnel is responsible for providing programs and services to promote recruitment, retention, and development of top talent across the State’s over 44,000 team member enterprise. The division oversees the implementation of state personnel laws that impact the State of Missouri workforce. In collaboration with Human Resources professionals from each of the 17 executive departments, the division develops and carries out initiatives designed to provide a productive and engaged workforce.

  • Promote and foster a positive attitude while serving as the primary point of contact for the leadership team within the division.
  • Act as the central hub for the leadership team, promoting and fostering a positive attitude and ensuring all communications are handled efficiently and professionally.
  • Greet visitors cordially and answer calls with a positive demeanor, ensuring all inquiries are addressed or routed appropriately.
  • Assist with scheduling, drafting correspondence, creating PowerPoint presentations, conducting research, and performing other related tasks.
  • Coordinate activities to ensure new team members are onboarded smoothly and exiting team members are offboarded professionally.
  • Assist with planning and executing recognition events and travel arrangements, utilizing your problem-solving skills to ensure the success of each event.
  • Maintain office supply levels, troubleshoot basic technology issues, and manage IT ticket submissions.
  • Represent the division on various Office of Administration (OA) committees, contributing to cross-functional initiatives.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including managing the division’s main phone line.
  • Manage or assist with division-wide projects, such as file storage and sharing, Intranet/Internet updates, and materials to promote programs and training opportunities.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Foundational understanding of Missouri government structure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe products.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
  • Resourcefulness and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Committed to seeking continuous improvement and alignment with the division values.
  • Approach challenges with critical thinking and solutions-driven methods.
  • Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic technology troubleshooting skills.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 25 lbs.
