Why you’ll love this position: The Accountant Supervisor is a new position within the new Division of Cannabis Regulation. The ideal person will love working in fast-paced environments and enjoy the challenge of creating a Financial Services Unit and processes.
What you’ll do: - Create and manage the division's new Financial Services Unit: evaluate and recommend financial processes.
- Manage the work of professional-level accounting staff and provide mentorship for professional development.
- Oversee fiscal duties for the Division including accounts payable, budget, fiscal notes, time accounting, purchasing and other financial issues.
- Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Coordinate with staff to update the Division's administrative manual.
- Assist in coordinating data for reports and responses to public inquiries.
All you need for success: Minimum Qualifications - A Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college is preferred; comparable years of professional experience or education may be substituted.
- Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Audior, and/or other relevant certifications may be substitued in lieu of education and experience.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience: 1-3 years of supervisory experience with 3-5 years of experience working in the State of Missouri's SAM II system is preferred; but not required.
- Experience working for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services in a comparable role is preferred; but not required.
- Advanced proficiency woring in Excel.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
