Salary: $60,576.48

  • Prepare and submit personnel transactions for Missouri Veterans Commission Headquarters, Veterans Service, Cemeteries, and Homes Programs
  • Implement and maintain a system of checks and balances to ensure personnel transactions are completed accurately and timely
  • Examine and approve personnel transactions submitted by Veterans Homes Human Resources staff to insure compliance with rules and regulations; discuss and bring to the attention of the Human Resources Specialist any issues involving specialized interpretations of the law or rules
  • Post leave events to individual attendance records in the payroll system
  • Verify time and leave documents are accurate prior to pay cycle run.
  • Verify events are in accordance with Missouri Veterans Commission leave policies and FLSA Policy and Procedure
  • Assist with the hiring process, which may include reviewing applications, contacting candidates for interviews, and/or responding to applicants
  • Receive, review and archive various payroll reports through Mobius Reporting System to achieve an accurate account and record of payroll
  • Onboard new employees and disseminate information regarding the employee benefits package, including medical plan, life insurance, retirement, leave, etc.
  • Serve as primary contact for employee benefits and fringes policies and procedures
  • Maintain benefit, deduction and fringes in the payroll system in accordance with the employee’s enrollment or election
  • Assists employees in the submission of enrollment and change forms to benefit organizations as requested
  • Maintain correspondence and personnel files in accordance with applicable retention requirements
  • Serve as back-up to the Human Resources Specialist


Qualifications:

Must demonstrate the following which may be obtained through 3 - 5 years of State of Missouri work experience as a human resources professional or through completion of a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, communications or closely related program:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of State Personnel System (SAM II) and processing actions
  • Introductory knowledge of personnel management including position classification, hiring, onboarding and training
  • Knowledge of computerized record keeping
