Job Description

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Energy’s Fiscal Program is a fun, fast-paced and detail-oriented team working to complete a variety of tasks. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a dynamic team whose critical role will work with many areas of the division and department helping to guide policy development and review, work with Information Technology Services Division (IT) on various technology needs and use data analytics to support division and department decision-making. This position will be located at the Lewis & Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, Missouri.

  • Support division team members in reviewing and updating policies and procedures. This position will provide guidance in the development of new policies and procedures, as well as tracking and managing updates to existing policies and procedures, and ensure all policies and procedures are reviewed and posted in a timely manner.
  • Oversee Division IT project development and drive project implementation.
  • Manage the Division’s continuous improvement initiatives and consult on cross-division continuous improvement and IT projects.
  • Provide Information Technology (IT) support for the division. This includes developing, maintaining, and updating the division intranet pages, providing IT support to team members, monitoring the IT budget, and coordinating IT project needs for the division.
  • Prepare data analytics through Tableau and other reporting tools, to assist department management in decision-making efforts. The successful candidate will assist in developing new measures for evaluating success for division and department management and will assist team members in updating and maintaining the division’s dashboard metrics monthly.
  • Provide assistance to the Program Managers with internal communications for the division and department.
  • Fixed Asset Manager for the Division. Be responsible for yearly reporting of the divisions fixed assets to the Division of Administration Services.
  • Lead or assist with special project requests, including department and statewide initiatives, for the division.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience (Substitutions may be allowed)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Tableau.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
  • Project Management and Project Mapping
  • Knowledge of Department and Statewide Policy and Procedures.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Experience with SAM II Financial.
  • IT Experience

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in environmental policy, energy engineering, or other environmental science-related field. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
    • 2+ years of professional experience in an environmental policy, regulatory, engineering, advocacy, or related role.
    • Knowledge of or experience with Missouri’s energy landscape and/or state or national energy initiatives.
    • This position requires a valid driver’s license.
