Salary Range: $5,173-$7,759/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5: 00 p.m. *Occasionallty works on call hours, weekends, and evenings

Responsibilities

This is a professional, highly complex and responsible administrative position tasked with ensuring the efficient daily operation of the Aim4Peace Program, funding oversight and grant management within the program.
  • Facilitates program management by attending to a variety of highly complex and difficult administrative work.
  • Supervises assigned staff and for coordinating all assigned projects, promotions, and grant required deliverables including operations analysis, budget, personnel matters, and operating rules and regulations.
  • Uses considerable initiative and independent judgement.
  • Assists in the administration of divisional/Department operations.
  • Acts as divisional representative and interdepartmental liaison to collaborate, organize, and disseminate requested program information to the community as requested.
  • Performs a variety of tasks involving liaison with other programs and Departments, agencies, and groups.
  • Represents the Department in meetings and conferences involving city officials, public and private groups.
  • Assists the Community & Family Health Education Division Manager with the supervision of highly complex operations as assigned.
  • Schedules, organizes, attends, facilitates and/or represents the Kansas City Health Department (Department) at health fairs within the greater Kansas City area.
  • Acts as a liaison between members of the community and the Department.
  • Works with community, faith-based, residential, and non-profit organizations, schools, hospitals, and businesses to create, develop and maintain working relationships with the Health Department.
  • Connects and coordinates with hospitals and first responders to organize and strategically deploy personnel in accordance with the violence interruption model.
  • Organizes and facilitates violence reduction education and related trainings/meetings for Health Department personnel, City personnel, schools, community organizations and members of the general public.
  • Assists the Division Manager in the administration of the Division.
  • Participates in and supervises the performance of routine operational tasks.
  • Suggests, for the benefit of general policy changes, those operational defects which should be remedied.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Organizes, allocates, and maintains the documentation of the Division and various programs within the Division.
  • Makes significant decisions and exercise resourcefulness in meeting and solving problems.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, municipal officials, community organizations and the general public.
  • Utilizes human resources effectively.
  • Functions as a constructive resource.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and interprets accurate and complex reports.



Qualifications

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 6 (OR an accredited Master's degree and 4) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields; OR a High School Diploma and ten (10) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
