Summary

We’re looking for a creative and motivated individual to join the City of Piedmont’s Communications team! As Video Communications Specialist/TV Station Manager, you’d:

  • be responsible for day-to-day operations of the City’s EG access TV station, including broadcast scheduling, channel programming, and maintenance and troubleshooting of station equipment
  • oversee live broadcast of City Council, Commission, and School Board meetings, supporting part-time broadcast technicians and providing backup coverage when needed
  • work closely with the Communications Program Manager to tell Piedmont’s story, creating short and long-form video and multimedia productions that showcase City staff and operations, education the public about City services and programs, and highlight positive stories about our community

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produces, scripts, directs, shoots, and edits narrative and instructional videos highlighting City programs, operations, and events
  • Oversees broadcast, recording, and archiving of public meetings
  • Manages station and field video and audio equipment
  • Creates weekly broadcast schedule and programs TV station playout
  • Schedules and coordinates part-time broadcast technicians and on-call videographers
  • Manages the City’s YouTube channel

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong candidates will have:

  • a documented history of producing compelling video storytelling
  • experience with broadcast equipment, including remote cameras, live switchers, and audio mixers
  • comfort troubleshooting technical issues
  • strong administrative and organizational skills

Experience working in PEG TV and interest in local government are a plus.
