Full-time position available with the Water Department, Pipeline Division, located at 2409 E. 18th St.
Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Thursday, 5:00 p.m.-3:30 a.m.

Responsibilities
- Plans and coordinates activities of workers in maintenance.
- Assigns personnel to shifts to operate construction equipment to install and repair valves, hydrants, and pipe.
- Determines action to be taken in the event of an emergency such as machines, equipment used to re-establish flow within the water distribution system.
- Interviews and trains staff in their areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and 3 years experience of a progressively responsible nature in construction or maintenance work including 1 year leading the work of general laboring or maintenance crews. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
Preference given to applicants with 3 years' experience making repairs to the water distribution system. Other Information

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
