This position is a part of the Environmental Health Surveillance Unit in the Bureau of Environmental Epidemiology, a team with a mission to gather, analyze, and disseminate environmental public health data.

What you’ll do:

  • Compile, process, analyze, and conduct quality control of environmental health data and information for the Environmental Health Surveillance Unit and other teams in the Bureau of Environmental Epidemiology (BEE)
  • Develop and implement new processes to allow automatic generation and ingestion of environmental health data reports as DHSS transitions to a new data management system.
  • Assist multiple BEE programs in assessing and interpreting environmental and health data. Advise on trends in the data to guide future positive outcomes
  • Process ad hoc internal and external data requests received
  • Prepare data for display in reports, maps and dashboards for multiple programs in BEE
  • Prepare data for submission to federal partners

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification (substitutions may be allowed)
  • Knowledge of statistical software including SAS preferred
  • A high level of commitment, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
