Recreation Assistant (Housing). This is a regular, part-time position with benefits and a schedule of Monday - Friday 3:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.

Who we are The Neighborhood Resources Housing & Redevelopment Division is the City of Chandler Public Housing Authority which oversees and manages Public Housing units and the Housing Choice Voucher: Section 8 program. Our primary focus is to provide affordable rental housing for low-income households. The Housing Youth Program serves the children and youth living in Chandler's four Public Housing family sites.
Who we are looking for Our new team member will have a passion for youth development and experience developing and implementing youth programing. We are seeking a creative and self-motivated individual, with at least 1 year of experience working with youth who leads by example to join our inclusive team.

Minimum qualifications - A High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience in a recreation environment
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Depending on assignment; and a valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
When assigned to Housing:Obtain a fingerprint clearance card within three (3) months of hire or promotion.
Desired qualifications - Experience with at-risk and low-income youth
- Experience with site-based afterschool programs
- Experience with literacy programs
This is a regular part-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
