Nature of Work:

WASTEWATER - VACTOR TRUCK: Performs tasks of more than average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. The employee will perform semiskilled work in maintenance of the wastewater collection system and serve as a lead in the operation of the Vactor truck and/or Tanker Truck. Tasks at times are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are required to exercise initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks and work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained. Time to time the employee with be required to assists the CCTV crew cleaning sewer mains lines in preparation for inspections, also the employee will be required to assist on sewer backups, wastewater overflows. Lastly, the employee maybe required to work at night and will be required to work in adverse weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifiacations

Ability to read, write and follow directions, plus two (2) yeara of experience of assigned equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Florida Commercial Drivers License Class A, B, or minimum CDL B permit required prior to employment. If selected, applicant must obtain Tanker Endorsement within three (3) months of hiring date. Applicant will be required to pass an annual Respirator Physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator and must be able to pass the Greter Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) background check.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
