  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

    • Serves as lead for the internal accounting system (MIP) by acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on cost allocations and accrual-based accounting
    • Develops and generates monthly financial reports from internal accounting system (MIP). Imports data, performs manual write-ups for cost allocated expenditures, and runs reports
    • Assists with the preparation/review of complex quarterly Federal Financial Reports (9130/EDR/FFR/FCTR). Has a good understanding and awareness of the differing set of requirements unique to each grant award
    • Conducts monthly reconciliation with the Treasurer’s Report and maintains End of Month (EOM) spreadsheet
    • Runs queries within the Statewide Advantage for Missouri (SAMII) data warehouse and the ETA time-keeping system
    • Assists with the preparation of yearly closeout reports
    • Identifies and researches accounting issues and suggests adjustments and/or journal entries to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Assists with monthly fund analysis to ensure solvency and makes recommendations when potential concerns arise
    • Assists with daily cash management activities as a backup to the Grants Specialist
    • Assists with the statewide allocations for 13 local workforce areas
    • Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance
    • Performs other related work as assigned


  • Beneficial education and/or work-related experience includes technical or professional experience in accounting, business, finance or public administration or closely related area
  • Supportive skills include: knowledgeable in the State of Missouri’s SAM II Financial System, Code of State Regulations related to fiscal and procurement activities, Uniform Guidance, and Government Auditing Standards preferred
