What You'll Be Doing

We are currently seeking an entry-level Economic Benefits technician with brag-worthy fast and accurate typing skills to join our Economic Services Submit Team that serves the public in a rewarding role that helps our community receive the crucial benefits they must have to live happy healthy lives. As an Economic Benefits Technician you will work under tight deadlines prioritizing and keying paper Medicaid, FNS and Energy applications as well as late recertifications into NC FAST to make sure the community receives their benefits as quickly as possible. Other duties may include keying referrals and county transfers, key applications and related information into NCFAST accurately and quickly, enter late recertifications into NC FAST and manage electronic data.

Bilingual candidates (Spanish and English) and those that have taken the NCFAST Income CaseWorker course or DSS CaseWorker training at a local NC Community College are encouraged to apply!

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in human services
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Experience scanning and indexing electronic data and records
  • Experience keying data quickly and accurately
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • NCFAST and OnBase experience


How Will We Know You're 'The One'?

  • Knowledge of and/or ability to learn Economic Programs policy and NCFast navigation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under deadlines.

  • Ability to patiently and professionally assist clientele
