Job Location: This position will be located at 912 Wildwood Jefferson City, MO 65109. This position is not eligible for remote work.
The Department of Health and Senior Services is looking for an energetic and dedicated individual to join our Human Resources team. This is a first-level professional human resources position responsible for supporting the agency in one or more areas of human resources under limited supervision.
- Administer workplace programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Primary duty is to serve as the DHSS ADA coordinator.
- Review medical documentation, gather, correlate, and analyze facts and develop recommendations and/or solutions for ADA accommodations
- Conduct and/or coordinate ergonomic assessments
- Assist with the hiring process and employee onboarding
- Provide support to team members in various HR related topics
- Process Workers' Compensation paperwork and assist with unemployment claims.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and strong organizations skills.
- Critical thinking and decision making skills.
- Knowledge of the SAM II HR payroll system is beneficial.
