A/C Refrigeration Mechanic II - $19.70 - $25.11

Nature of Work/ Job Description

Performs skilled, journey level work in the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of air conditioning equipment, electric motors, water pumps, circulation pumps, ice making equipment. Conducts daily inspections of air conditioning units, pumps, refrigeration plant and other HVAC associated equipment. Makes operating adjustments under the direction of the Engineering Manager. Lubricates units, and changes filters. Work requires the inspection of malfunctioning units, testing of equipment, diagnosis of problems, repair or replacement of parts, and replacement of refrigerant. Employee works under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, alone and with others , and exercises reasonable initiative and independent judgment in scheduling and completing work and in determining proper action to be taken. Performs other duties as assigned. Work is reviewed through inspection of work completed, reports from users of equipment, study of work reports, and analysis of operating and maintenance costs.

Minimum Qualifications:
A/C Refrigeration Mechanic I
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years’ experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating and air conditioning systems; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required.

A/C Refrigeration Mechanic II
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate plus four (4) years’ experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating and air conditioning systems; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid Florida Driver's License is required.

Additional Requirements for both Level I/II

1. "Universal 608 certification preferred but not required" to the " Minimum Requirements
