Job Description and Duties

The Seasonal Clerk in the Imaging and Record Services Section is responsible for pulling and refiling folders, filing documents into folders, data entry using record management systems, analyzing documents for completeness and sorting by type, and back shifting folders. The Seasonal Clerk prepares and reviews documents for imaging and input into the Automated Archives System and maintains Bureau files and other routine duties as required.

This position is located in the California Justice Information Services Division, Bureau of Criminal Information & Analysis, Records & Biometric Identification Branch, Imaging & Live Scan Program, Imaging & Record Services Section #1.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Responsible for pulling and refiling folders
  • Sorting documents in folders
  • Data entry experience
  • Analyzing documents for completeness and sorting by type
  • Review documents for imaging and input into the Automated Archives System and maintain Bureau files
  • Review, analyze, and interpret information on documents for accuracy
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, and utilize a step stool to retrieve or file folders to or from mobile shelving units. Must be able to lift 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to sit at an ergonomic personal computer work station for extended periods of time (6 to 8 hours) while sorting and keying in data for documents and folder’s
